The Zoo While James & Family Were Here

We decided to all venture to the zoo while my brother James and his family were here......we've really gotten a lot of use out of our membership this year......going as much as we can while the weather is still nice. It was absolutely perfect that day! I think it was in the 70's.....

the first stop is always the big rotundra area where the giraffes are, and the kids all have to climb up the stairs, to where you can get really close to them......it's a popular place, but the staircase is quite narrow.......it's a bit of challenge when there are people trying to go up and down at the same time.

Cameron and Carter are really starting to climb on everything now......all by themselves....they don't need any help from me anymore

Alyssa and Maddie were enjoying some time with the "big girls", being the two oldest

of course we had to keep changing it up and taking turns of who got to sit with who in the stroller James rented at the zoo....no one wanted to sit in their own stroller!

Carter is saying "Is it my turn yet to sit in there?", while Alyssa pouts because he made her get out

Auntie Melissa offered to give Sidney a ride on her shoulders when she couldn't sit in the special stroller and Sidney was all over that!

I think Carter climbed up here all on his own too!

We actually got them to stop for a moment so that we could take a picture......Sidney LOVES playing with Madeline!

Mattea and Sidney are hanging out, having a quick snack

They've redone the kids area in the last year, and it's quite nice now, the kids always love going there.......Cameron is exploring a new thing he hasn't checked out before.

the kids were all over the place in the kiddie play area
All the kids LOVE the tractors too.....they have a couple of them there......it always requires major refereeing to make sure everyone gets a turn and that no one takes too long!

I knew the splash pads were on, as we had been there just a couple of weeks prior to this visit and they were already on........the kids really wanted to go in them, even though it was only in the 70's out.......and the water coming out of the splash pad was VERY cold! I had brought suits for my kids to change into, but Alyssa and Mattea just went in their clothes, (they'll dry, right?) and Madeline and Kendall did too, but they had other clothes to put on. They were having so much fun!
Carter was kind of in and out of the water and didn't get too wet. It was a bit too cold for him I think. It was soooooo funny though, he kept running around the outside, to the other side, over to this guy that was sitting there watching his kids.............it's like he thought he knew him or something.............then he would run back over by us when we would call him...........and run back over to this guy again.......he must have done that at least 5 or 6 times............we were getting a pretty good chuckle out of it, and so was the guy he kept running over to luckily.
Cameron wanted nothing it to do with it. It was way too cold for him......he just went and played on the ship/climbing thing they had there.
