The Children's Museum

Whew, I have been working on this post for DAYS! I was having technical difficulties......it wasn't uploading pics here and there, then I realized that some that I thought I had uploaded weren't here.....so they were out of order. And if you don't upload them in the right order it's really a pain to drag them where you want them. Then I remembered...."Oh yeah......check if I have any video of this".....and guess what??? I did......a lot actually.

This museum is like the coolest place EVER! This was the first time we had ever been there.....the kids could have stayed ALL day.....but my husband gets bored and his Mom was getting tired. We should seriously think of getting a year pass! It is kind of far away, but they have plenty of free parking and it's mostly freeway.

When we first got there it seemed kind of odd.....kind of warehouse-like. We didn't know where anything was, so it was a learning adventure : ) This was a neat light/sand table.....Carter is playing, but Cameron wanted to go on and check other things out!

They have an arts & crafts area......the kids got to paint this neat castle.....Cameron didn't care that it was pink ; ) Sidney was LOVING it!!!

The boys found this little place to crawl in that had stuffed animals in it.....they were having SO much fun throwing them around and wrestling each other.

The bike area is always a favorite place for the kids......but they have to be patient to get the trikes they really want. They get to go through this tunnel/car wash thing and around.....and they can do it again, and again, and again, and.....are you getting the picture? (Carter is the one in the black shirt/tan pants and Cameron has a blue shirt & green pants)

This is a double sided area......it kind of reminds me of plinko off the Price is Right : )

We took a break outside after we ate for the kids to run around.....and us to warm up. I don't really like this pic of me, but I love it of Cameron......such a cool dude, kickin' back. Sidney took this pic.

Sidney took this one of Roman too......he had a sweater on, so he was sitting in the shade.

The boys just barely made the cut-off for going in the toddler area. Sidney wanted to go in too, but Roman & Czeslawa managed to distract her somewhere else. (Carter)

The front of this is glass, so they can drop the balls in the top and watch them go down. (Cameron)

You can make your own garden. : ) Sidney LOVES flowers......she mostly tares them apart.....but she was good with the silk ones.

Ice Cream anyone?

Cameron was cute making us a pizza

He kept insisting on "baking" his pizza in the little fridge.

It so amazing to see their excitement and interest it everything.

Here they are at the grocery weighing area.......the most fun part??? Dumping it out!

Roman is trying to help Sidney here......but she wants to do it herself.

Cameron says "Come help me Daddy!"

Looking for some produce. (Carter)

They all took turns being the one behind the counter......but getting the shopping cart was the most coveted thing!

Ahhh......two happy boys, while big sis is ringing up some other kids at the register.

ok, they switched now

We definitely need to go back here soon.

Playing By Our House

We live on the cul de sac by the pool & tot lot......so the kids love going over there....this day we had a couple of visitors : ) Believe it or not, we've actually had couple ducks in our yard before......of course that was before we had the dog : )

They were just enjoying a nice, relaxing swim.

Cameron had to go over and get a closer look.
Boys, trucks & dirt......enough said!

I LOVE this picture of her.....yes, this is the playground where she broke her arm.

Playing with her cousin.....they like to play restaurant here.

Carter's moooovin on....

My big strong girl.....Cameron's looking for his spot in the wagon.

I how they lay down all the way and really get into playing with their cars.

Concentrating hard here.....can you see his tongue sticking out.....that's a Carter trait.

Ok, now it's Kendall's turn.....she was having a little trouble : )

My Goofy Girl

Here are a few random pictures of Sidney......going back to Jan/Feb.....since I have 400-500 pictures that I have re-edit since my hard drive crash. I think some of those are from our trip to San Diego though that I've already blogged, but haven't printed.

She loves wearing her stretchy necklaces on her head like this and dressing up in her gymnastics wear. Even her doll from school has a leotard on.

Here's our strong girl.....I think she's one of the only ones in her class that can climb all the way to the top!

Now it's time to hula-hoop....she hasn't quite figured that one out all the way yet.

Peek-a-boo.....isn't this the cutest picture?!

This was SO darn cute......they were sitting back, with their hands behind their head & elbow out.

Some cuddle time with Papa and her cousin

And the Sickness Goes On

We have all been sick A LOT lately.......not sure if it's the stress of Roman possibly going to WA to work on a project for a year, or the change in temperature, or what???

A couple of weeks ago (at least I think it was a couple of weeks ago......the days just blend into each other), I was at the ER with Cameron for hip pain they couldn't figure out until 3am. Poor thing, I was out with some friends and Roman was putting the kids to bed & had started to walk down the hall. We're not sure if he did something to it jumping down off our bed (cuz it's kind of high) or what......but he was crying, pretty hard for over 45 min. when Roman called me. You can just tell when something is not right with your child. He had iced it and given him some ibuprofen I think, but even me picking him up, like a baby, laying down seemed excruciating for him. We decided that I would take him to Urgent Care......he didn't even want to sit in his car seat, he wanted to lay on the floor of the van....and I wanted Roman to get Sidney in bed ASAP. It was late and Carter was already asleep. At the U.C. the Dr. took his hand and walked him down the hall to get a Popsicle......she ended up having to carry him back because it was hurting him.......while she was pushing on his leg and hip he was shaking in pain......and he didn't want his Popsicle.....that was a huge clue that something was wrong right there! They couldn't x-ray his hip there, so they referred us to an ER and even called for us to make sure they took our insurance. While walking from the car to ER Cameron got sick........the Dr. there was manipulating his leg and having him move it too & he seemed to be able to do more. They thought maybe he had strained it, or had a virus in his hip, but the x-ray didn't show anything. He was in so much pain, it hurt him so much to lay on his back.....and then having to straighten his legs, he was screaming and telling me was he was all done, he felt better, he wanted to go home. They did some blood work and started an IV. The labs didn't show anything except that he was maybe constipated. This kid usually goes 2-4 times a day! I guess he hadn't gone as much that day? Anyway, they decided to do a CAT scan.....but he threw-up the contrast....they decided to do the test anyway.....I had to keep carrying him from the gurney to the table. The CT didn't show anything either......but it didn't help that he was moving (which I thought he did amazingly well for a small child in a lot of pain! He didn't move that much.) So after all that they sent us out into the night, with Cameron only wearing a thin gown....so I took one of the blankets to wrap around him......Carrying him, the diaper bag, my purse, a bag full of his blanket & clothes he'd thrown up on took my poor baby home. The next day he was fine. I followed up with our pediatrician and they said he seemed fine too. It was very strange......and all I know is that there was something VERY wrong with my child! The next week Carter got sick late on Halloween night, but seemed to be feeling fine the next day. I wasn't so lucky......I got sick Wednesday night and got less than 3 hours of sleep and felt just awful all day on Thursday. Then Roman got sick Sat. night. NOW the kids seem to be getting a cold....they sound a little stuffed up, with runny noses, a few coughs......AND lovely diarrhea off & on. Plus, when I picked Sidney up from school today I could as soon as I saw her that she wasn't feeling well. She had a temp of 102.2! I felt SO bad! She told me this morning that she didn't feel well, but she says that a lot, I think she thinks she's missing out on things while she's at school, and she seemed fine, so I made her go to school. I gave her some ibuprofen & a cool cloth for her head and set her up in the playroom with a new video I just happened to have stashed for her : ) It's times like these when I love that I buy ahead! Oh yeah, and I'm sick again too.....I'm not sure if it's a cold or what? It's mainly just my throat. I have laryngitis and my throat is really dry and scratchy. My inner ears hurt off & on too, but that's probably related to my allergies. SIGH.......so tomorrow we are staying home, I'm hoping to actually fold 2 weeks worth of laundry and watch movies & play board games with the kids. I was supposed to be in the boys classroom tomorrow too, but we're all staying home : ) Maybe I can squeeze in a post with pictures of much healthier times.
