Road Trip!

I won't take credit for this.....well, because I do NOT like being in the car, trapped, for hours on end with three small children.......oh yeah, and a dog and a cat too......but, this year we decided to drive up to WA for our annual summer visit. Mainly because we will be in a different area......most of the time we will be by where Daddy has been living for the past 6 months, so we REALLY needed our car! We are about 4 hours away from my Dad's house, up in the mountains, by a beautiful lake : )

All packed up, and SO far to go

The first day Daisy was really freaked out.......she normally sits in the passenger seat (she goes with us every morning & afternoon to drop off & pick-up Sidney from school) and it's usually a short drive........she was feeling insecure, so I let her crawl on my lap. She actually turned around and laid down on my lap, with her face buried in my side until my legs finally gave out because she's so big & kept slipping down. After the first day both the cat & the dog decided that sleeping was really the way to go (and the cat decided that the carrier was really a safer option than getting passed around between the kids) LOL.

This little park was at our first stop for gas, where there was a hotel too. I was like "ok, it's beautiful here.......can't we just stay here?"

We spent a couple of days in Northern Cali, visiting my Aunt, Uncle & cousins and a good friend and her family. EVERYONE had such a wonderful time at our friend's house......our kids are the same age and she had a dog too that got along great with Daisy.....they had a trampoline & tree fort.....even the cat loved having time alone in the house, not getting mauled by the kids or the dog, and we got to visit with our friend. We were all in HEAVEN! This is the friend we credit with introducing Roman and I. She was in our wedding and we used to go roller blading together all the time in San Diego, but we hadn't lived in the same state, for what we figured has been 9 years!!

Our next stop, well, after a hotel one night, was at another Aunt & Uncle's house! (We really made the rounds this year)

Then, after much convincing, since Roman REALLY wanted to get here & get settled, we stayed at another Aunt & Uncles cabin.......for two days! It was SO great there!!!!!! Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing......everyone LOVED it! The kids loved playing in the dirt/sand & the freezing river water and the dog got to roam free (and much to my amazement, didn't run off) and we got in some good bonding time : )

Now were are at Roman's condo & I've stocked the fridge with something other than the 3 different kinds of beer her had in there, cleaned to Mommies standard and are familiarizing ourselves with the area. The park/Lake is right across the street and there's a heated pool here at the condo.....AND it's about 30-40 degrees cooler here : ) Although, us Arizonans could stand a little more sun, well, constant sun really, at least for me : )
